Stations of the Cross in Jerusalem

One of the highlights of my pilgrimage to Jerusalem is walking the Stations of the Cross at Via Dolorosa. We started at Fortress Antonia and navigated our way at Via Dolorosa to Mount Calvary where Jesus was crucified, died and buried at the Holy Sepulcher.

The First Station: Jesus is condemned to die (Mark 15:1-15)

Second Station – Jesus takes up the Cross (John 19:13-17) ; Ecce Homo Arch (John 19:5)

Third Station – Jesus falls the first time (John 1:29)

Fourth Station – Jesus meets His mother (John 19:26-27)

Fifth Station – Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry His cross (Mark 15:21 Mark 8:34)

Sixth Station – Veronica wipes Jesus’ face (Matthew 25:40)

Seventh Station – Jesus falls the second time (Isaiah 53:4-7)

Eighth Station – Jesus consoles the women in Jerusalem (Luke 23:27-31)

Ninth Station – Jesus falls the third time (Psalm 37: 23-24)

Tenth Station – Jesus is stripped of His garment (Psalm 37:  23-24)

Eleventh Station – Jesus is nailed on the cross (John 19:1)

Twelfth Station – Jesus dies on the cross (John 19:  28-37)

Thirteenth Station – Jesus is taken down from the cross (John 19:38-40)

Fourteenth Station – Jesus is laid on the tomb (Mark 15: 46-47)
